Exciting News from Governor's Cup-
We had a great showing at the governor's cup competition today at Scott H.S.
The following students placed 5th or better and are moving on to regionals at Bishop Brossart Feb 20th:
Mathematics:
    Nick Miller - 4th
    Jake Schlarman - 5th
Science:
    Eric Gregory - 3rd place
Composition:
    Ali Doggett - 4th place
    Megan Bowling - 5th place
Language Arts:
    Megan Bowling - 3rd place
    Nick Miller - 4th place

Other exciting stats (but not going on to regionals)-
    Jacob Franz - 6th in Social Studies (by one point)
    Jared Andrews - 7th in Social Studies
    Eric Gregory - 6th in Mathematics(by one point)
    Annie Wolff - 7th in Arts and Humanities

Also - It was en exciting finish for the Quick recall Team (Nick Miller, Annie Wolff, Ali Doggett, Eric Gregory, Jacob Franz and Jamie Marsh) - We went all the way to the finals, coming in second to Simon Kenton (ranked # 3 in the state). This quick recall team will also be advancing to regionals in February!

Academic Team members participate in Quick Recall matches against other area high schools.
Questions are from Science, Math, Language Arts, Social Studies and the Humanities.  
We have Varsity, JV, and Freshman teams.  
The matches are on Tuesdays after school starting September 23rd and going until January 13th.
 We have practice one or two days after school,
usually on Monday and possibly Wednesday or during Enrichment once the matches start.
 If a student is participating in a sport, it is sometimes still possible to be on
the Academic Team depending on the coach and the schedule for the sport.
 We provide transportation to and from the away matches.
 The student just needs to be picked up at school sometime
between 5:00 and 6:00 depending on the location of the match.
Our first meeting and practice is Tuesday, August 26th in Rm.26.  
We will practice on Tuesdays until the matches start.
