General Calendar Information
An orientation day for new students will be held a week before school begins from 8:30am until 1:30pm and at 7pm there will be a meeting for the parents. Finalized student schedules will be available at the orientation. Questions regarding schedule changes should be addressed to the Academic Counselor after that date. Information on exact dates will be mailed to registered students in advance. 2009 Orientation Date is Tuesday 8/11
Uniform Orders - Schoolbelles Schoolwear Company is the official uniform company for Holy Cross. They will measure for students at their Taylor Mill location. 5046 Old Taylor Mill Rd in thee Remke's Plaza. Call the store for more details. 859-581-3111
We invite all 8th graders to attend selected Indian home athletic or drama events. Be our guest and come to any of the events listed on your VIP card. 8th graders in our district will receive a flier through their grade school with a Free admission slip attached. If you do not receive a VIP cards contact the High School office
Open House Dates: November & January - Thinking of sending your child to Holy Cross High School? If you missed our open houses or if you would like to schedule a visit or shadow a student contact Anne Julian.
8th Grade Placement Test - 1st or 2nd Saturday in December Students should take the test at their district high school. If you are out of the Holy Cross H.S. district, please indicate Holy Cross as your school of choice when you take the test or by calling the school where you took the test. If you miss the placement test, call the high school office.
Accelerated Math Placement Test - The Math Department at Holy Cross High School offers an Accelerated Geometry course. This course is intended for students who have taken an accelerated algebra course during the eighth grade that included all topics and techniques covered in a high school algebra course. A Math Placement test will be administered in May to determine which students should be recommended for this course. Click here for more details.

As a Catholic institution, Holy Cross High School exists to provide each student with an atmosphere of responsible freedom in which he/she can develop those attitudes, skills, and abilities which will enable him/her to live as a good Catholic and a good citizen.
Primary Service Area: Kenton County parishes of Cathedral, Holy Cross, Our Savior, St. Anthony, St. Augustine, St. Benedict, St. Cecilia, St. Matthew and St. Patrick
Thus Holy Cross High School aims to achieve the following goals:
- To develop and environment of high academic expectations that maximizes each student’s potential and opportunity for learning.
- To accept the varying abilities of all students and encourage each person to reach his/her potential through a well-balanced curriculum.
- To develop in each student the ability to apply learned skills and knowledge to the world of work and other life experiences.
- To have parents and faculty work together to help develop in each student a sense of personal worth, responsibility, self-discipline, and initiative which lead to internalized learning and living the Gospel values.
- To provide a value-centered environment in which each student can develop a meaningful relationship with God and others through instruction, prayers, and sacraments.

- To meet standards set for secondary education by the State Board of Education, the school board of Holy Cross High School and those requirements set by the universities and colleges.

School Size
There are approximately 436 students currently enrolled in grades 9 through 12. Admission to Holy Cross High School is open to young men and women of all races and religious faiths.
Faculty
The faculty of Holy Cross High School consists of 38 teachers. Including: Sr. Sharon Goller from the Notre Dame Order. Fr. Tom Robbins, pastor of St. Anthony Parish, and Fr. Jeff VonLehman, pastor of St. Pius Parish.
Guidance Services
Guidance counselors are on-staff for academic planning and career exploration. In addition, a licensed social worker, substance abuse counselor and campus minister are available for personal guidance to assist students with non-academic difficulties that ultimately affect academic performance.
Academic Enhancement Program (AEP)
Beginning in 1998, Holy Cross High School recognizes the need to assist students with limited disabilities and became the first Catholic high school to implement a program to meet the needs of students with learning difficulties. The program, started by former teacher Mrs. Schlarman, now deceased, provides learning techniques and strategies for students who face particular challenges in their course of study. Those enrolled in this program receive special monitoring and tutoring, in an inclusive environment, increasing their opportunities for academic success. In 2002 and 2005, the Academic Enhancement Program was given an award by the Inclusive Education Committee of the Diocese of Covington for its efforts on behalf of students with special learning needs.
Christian Service Program
All students must commit to a program of service in which they devote 10-40 hours of their time to others and their communities. A total of 100 hours of service is required for graduation. Their obligation can be fulfilled in a variety of ways with the approval of the service program director. The requirement per year is as follows:

Holy Cross High School offers superior co-curriculars, including one of the most diversified athletic programs in the entire area. Approximately 80% of the student body participate in some co-curricular activity with nearly 70% participating in athletics. The rich tradition of Holy Cross athletics spans 40 years and includes many championships in various sports.

Scholarships
Holy Cross High School offers numerous scholarships to our district students. To be considered for an award, students submit essays regarding their academic performance, community service, leadership, participation in extra-curricular activities, work ethic, financial need, and their desire to attend Holy Cross High School. The principal, in consultation with the families and organizations sponsoring the scholarship, determine the award winners.

Holy Cross High School has worked diligently to keep the cost of Catholic education affordable for all the communities and families that it serves. As a result of this effort, we continue to have one of the lowest tuition rates in the diocese among Catholic high schools.
General Fees
Grades 9-11: $300 Grade 12: $450
Registration Fee
A registration fee of $200 is required for each student, which will be deducted from their tuition. This fee is payable at the time classes are scheduled for the next school year.
Discounts for Prepaid Tuition
Single Payment $100 Two Payment - $50
Tuition Assistance Program
Holy Cross High School has a tuition assistance program that helps families with limited, moderate and middle incomes. Holy Cross High School contracts the services of Private School Aid Service to evaluate applications and to make award recommendations. Therefore, in order to receive assistance families must complete a tuition assistance form in order to receive an award. Please contact Nancy in the high school office at 431-1335 for application information.
Family Tuition Discounts
Tuition reductions are provided to families having more than one child enrolled at Holy Cross High School. A discount of $500 is given for the second child and no tuition is charged for additional children.
Payment Plans
Holy Cross High School offers four plans for the payment of tuition:
- Plan I: One full payment of tuition, less a $100.00 discount if paid by September 8, 2009.
- Plan II: Two equal payments of tuition on September 8 and January 20 less a discount of $50.00
- Plan III: Four equal quarterly payments, which must be paid through FACTS. These payments are due on 9/5, 11/5, 2/5 and 4/5. There is no discount for this payment plan.
- Plan IV: Ten equal monthly payments beginning September 2009. ALL MONTHLY PAYMENTS MUST BE PAID THROUGH FACTS. There is no discount for this payment plan.
