Josh, 14, died Saturday at Memorial Hospital in Manchester, Ky., of injuries suffered in an ATV accident. He was an avid skateboarder and just completed his freshman year at Holy Cross. "He was a quiet kid, but a very intelligent kid with a great sense of humor," said Principal Clay Eifert. "He was very talented artistically and was really moving in the direction of seriously pursuing art."

Josh’s family includes his parents, Sharon and Jay, his sister Nicole who just graduated from HCHS, and his younger brother Jonathan who will be in the 3rd grade at Holy Cross Elementary.

LaurenLauren Yager

Born: March 22, 1988
Died: April 18, 2005

It is with great sorrow that the Holy Cross Community reports the loss of junior student, Lauren Yager, who was tragically killed in a car accident as she was heading home to see her mother who resides in Crittenden, KY.  Lauren, 17, was the lone passenger in her vehicle, which collided head on with another on a two-lane road in Crittenden.  She was airlifted to University Hospital in Cincinnati where she was pronounced dead at around 8:45 PM on Monday evening 4/18.
Many of our school's 443 students converged on Holy Cross High School upon receiving news of her death.  Teachers and Counselors were on hand all night to help console Lauren's classmates.  A prayer service is planned for 8 AM Tuesday Morning in Holy Cross Church for all students and friends.  Counselors will be available indefinitely to help students cope with her loss.
Lauren was completing her junior year at Holy Cross where she took several honors classes and had earned a 3.39 GPA and a rank of 28th in her class.  Loved and admired by her classmates, Lauren's contagious smile warmed the hearts of all who knew her.  She will be deeply missed. Students can post messages of condolence or remembrance in room 10.  Lauren had also been a cheerleader at Holy Cross.  Both her and her sister Tiffany shared many memories at competitions and games.  A special scholarship will established in her name by the Northern Kentucky Cheerleading Coaches' Association.  Her memory and spirit will live on, while helping someone else fund their education through this scholarship.

wysong Coach John Wysong

Born: June 19, 1946
Died: May 12, 2004

We are sad to report that long time Math Teacher and Football Coach, Mr. John Wysong, died Wednesday morning of an apparent heart attack. Mr. Wysong, age 57, was in his third stint as a teacher-coach at Holy Cross and was finishing his 32nd year as an educator which began in 1971 at Holy Cross. He taught at Holy Cross from 1971-1974, 1979-82, and lastly from 1997 to present time where he, and his assistant, Bruce Kozerski, initiated the Holy Cross Football Program and was the Head Football Coach until he stepped down after this past season. He took the fledging program to the playoffs the past 3 seasons. His other education stints included Springfield Catholic from 1975-79 and Purcell Marian from 1982-97. Mr. Wysong taught AP Calculus, Pre-Calculus, Advanced Math and Honors Geometry this past year at Holy Cross. He was loved and admired by his students and his colleagues at Holy Cross. He always had a positive attitude and disposition, and that attitude was passed on to his students and players. In starting the football program at Holy Cross, he gave opportunities to students who had no previous experience with the sport, and built them into a competitive squad in the difficult Class A Division in Northern Kentucky.
