Lunch Box Information
Checks/cash can still be sent in with your student(s) to school. We ask that they take the checks/cash to the cafeteria first thing in the morning and not wait until going through the lunch line.
The School Lunch Program gladly accepts checks as payment for student meal accounts. Check payments that are returned for any reason (including, but not limited to, non-sufficient funds, stop payment requests or a closed account) will result in:
- A $25.00 Returned Check Fee.
- You will receive a certified letter and email regarding your check payment with instruction for repayment.
- May result in the referral of the debt to the Kenton County Attorney’s office for collection.
- May result in the suspension of the payer’s ability to submit future payments by person check.
You also have the option of depositing money into your student(s) account online by using your credit card. Remember that there is a $2 fee for each transaction; therefore it is optimal to use this option when adding larger amounts of money to the account(s).

Now you can apply on-line for your children to receive free or reduced price school meals. Your application will be sent from a secure web site directly to your school district, so you don’t need to worry about filling out a paper form that could be lost or misplaced.

We ask that as many students as possible place money in their account and as few as possible pay with cash. This will speed up the lunch line for all.
Finally, (high school) students can pay for A La Carte items with money in their lunchbox account or cash. Students will not be able to charge A La Carte items. If you do not want them to use lunchbox account money for A La Carte items, please contact the cafeteria and let them know. They can make the note in the lunch box system. If you have any other questions, please let us know and we will help to get them answered.
