Hello parents,
I hope everyone has enjoyed their summer and is ready to start school! As we prepare for the new school year, I’d like to send out information about students requiring medication during the school day.
The secretaries in our main office, Mrs. Lachmann and Mrs. Crowley, keep ibuprofen, acetaminophen, and antacid tablets in the office. These are available to be given to students as needed for minor issues (e.g. headache, cramps, upset stomach…) They will contact a parent before handing out any medicine. If you would like to give the Holy Cross H.S. staff permission to give your child any of these medications without calling you first, please sign and return the attached form.
We understand that some of our students require prescription medication during the school day. Students are not permitted to carry medicine with them in the school (the only exceptions are inhalers and epi-pens, covered in the next section.) The medicine must be kept in the office with the attached form signed by the guardian and doctor. The medication will be distributed as detailed on the Administration of Medication Form.
The only medications students are permitted to carry with them during the school day are inhalers and epi-pens. If your child has a condition that requires them to carry one, please fill in the attached form and have it completed by your child’s doctor. We will keep this form on file in the office.
